Dal khichdi

Ingredients

1. 1 cup basmati rice

2. 1 cup toor dal

3. 1/4 cup masoor dal

4. 1/4 cup moong dal

5. 1/2 tablespoon ghee

6. 1 teaspoon cumin seeds

7. 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste

8. 1 large onion finely chopped

9. 1 tomato finely chopped

10. 1 teaspoon red chili powder

11. 1 tablespoon turmeric powder

12. 1 teaspoon kasuri methi

13. 1 teaspoon aamchoor powder

14. 1/2 teaspoon garam masala

15. 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder

16. 4-5 chili finely chopped

17. Salt

18. finely chopped coriander leaves

19. 4-5 dry red chili

Method

1. Cook rice to 90% and set aside. Cook the dal till a smooth paste is formed, with salt and a 1 teaspoon turmeric powder.

2. In a pan add ghee, cumin seeds and after the cumin seeds pop, add dry red chili, onion along with ginger garlic paste and chili.

3. Add all the spices and salt after onion turns translucent .

4. Add tomato's after 4-5 minutes and add cooked dal along with water till desired consistency.

5. Add cooked rice and serve hot with a dollop of ghee.
