1. 150 gms dal
2. 1 onion
3. 2 medium size green chilli
4. 2 dry red chilli
5. 1/2 teaspoon chilli powder
6. 2 garlic cloves
7. Small piece of ginger
8. 1/2 teaspoon fennel seeds
9. 1/4 teaspoo asafoetida
10. 1 strand of curry leaves
11. Salt
12. Oil
Method
1. Soak the dal for 5-6 hrs in water
2. In a blender add the soaked dal (do not add water)(just for 2-3 seconds dont over blend)
3. Add this to a bowl then in the blender add all the ingredients except for salt and oil
4. Add the mixture to the dal. Mix well
5. Shape the mixture as shown in the picture and deep fry. Serve hot
